项目申请者长期以来从事以蝉科、天蛾科和大痣细蜂科为代表的传统分类、分子系统发育、系统地理学等研究。截止目前，以第一作者或通讯作者在《Gene》、《Insects》、《Journal of Hymenoptera Research》、《Zootaxa》、《Zoologischer Anzeiger》、《European Journal of Entomology》、《ZooKeys》、《European Journal of Taxonomy》、《Biodiversity Data Journal》等杂志发表学术论文38篇；参与编写专著4本：《天目山动物志》、《秦岭动物志》、《中国蝉科志》和《广西森林昆虫》。主持国家自然科学基金1项、安徽省自然科学基金1项、博士科研启动金项目1项、科研平台专项基金项目1项；参与安徽省重大科技专项1项、国家自然科学基金项目2项。
